The Canvas is an online magazine aiming to educate and make youth knowledgeable of the latest interferences our country is encountering. We make sure the magazine is online, universal and patriotic in its missions as a writing organization.
We promote literacy in form of creative literature, responsible journalism and writing, and academically acknowledged written reviewers, that leads more to the goal ahead of us: to educate and lead youth towards awareness and cease the sickness of indolence among nations of the future.
We maintain our patriotism, by ensuring Filipino spirit not stop in our writings, making them assets in our standards and make it baseline for our success. We promote patriotism by characterizing Filipino values: determination, creativity and faith for religion and country.
We are bounded by the Filipino values and religious virtues in order to bring success to our plan of educating and bringing awareness to the youth, and to enhance responsible and creative literature and journalism and this will only take effect, if we are bounded well in our objectives and supported with God, the source of all strength and wisdom.
RESPONSIBLE JOURNALISM
In line with our goal, we show responsible journalism by utilizing our freedom of speech in boundary to the law. We do not claim to hurt someone, nor trying to implore negative attitudes and views. We ensure that every article or post is encouraging and morally well, and will help people to learn fundamental things in life.
SECTIONS
We have various sections in The Canvas. Each features different topics and maintains their periodic distribution. Articles are courtesy of The Canvas. The sections are as follows:
Automobile/Technology - As we all know, technology is the application of science to our daily life. Therefore this column showcases technological issues facing the city and opinions regarding technology, and how technology may help or harm our society.
Education - This gives knowledge of lessons to learn especially in studying matters and the life of studying. This column usually tells the success and hardships of studying and news/opinions related to education.
Religion - These are articles related to faith, and the world that revolves on it. This gives information from Gospel, and columns related to religions. This is a section enriching the values of religion.
Literature - This shows literatures from the old times up to modern times. This also comprises of poems and short stories owned by The Canvas and its writers.
Filipino - This talks about being Filipino and things Filipino. This takes pride of the beautiful culture and wondrous happenings in Philippines.
Lifestyle - This shows the tips on how to enjoy the whole wonder of life. This improves and motivates people to live their life to the full.
Photoblog - This section is comprised of photographs telling a story. This is also the place of comics and anything connected to the beauty of images.
