The doctor asked Peter, his younger sibling.
"Are you prepared for giving your blood to your older sibling?"
"Yes. I would do anything for my sister to be healed," said Peter, a 5 year old child.
The doctor got the materials to get her blood and while the blood is being transplanted, Peter kept smiling as he knows that his brother will be healed and his face gradually becomes rosy. Peter on the other hand, gradually becomes pale. With hesitations, he asked the doctor, "When will I die?"
The doctor just smiled.
It may be a misconception that if you transferred blood to another being, you will die. Although this was a misconception, this showed giving without return. Some shepherds hit lambs, get wool for clothing, kill lambs for they make a good lamb stew, or mistreat them because after all, who are they?
Some, are good shepherds. They take care of them, feed and clean them, but it is because they need something at that lamb or sheep. They need it for clothing, or for their business to grow. Let us remember that Lord Jesus Christ, is not like the other two.
Our Lord Jesus Christ takes care of us without anything in return. Even though He might say we don't have function, or use, He does not care. He loves us for who we are and even if we are lost, He will find us. We are a big part of Him, because He did everything for us. Even His death here in our world was faced just to heal our sins and treat our temptation.
Let us remember to pattern our lives to the Good Shepherd. Let us not give anything with return. Rather, let us train ourselves that everything is not with exchange to another thing. If we give, let us not expect, for the reward we get is with God, and He will give it to you in due time. Everything has a special time.
Good Day to everyone. Happy Good Shepherd Sunday!
