Mosquito is characterized by a germ/bacteria called Plasmodium falcifarum which is carried by an infected mosquito. Once bit, Plasmodium falcifarum expands or multiplies in the liver and infects the red blood cells.
The symptoms are vomiting, high fever and vomitting and it lasts 10 to 15 days after the mosquito bit you. If not treated by a quinine, an effective treatment for malaria, this might threaten your life. This might contaminate the blood flow to the different organs of your body and worst, you might die because of not treating the sickness.
We are one of the top 10 fan of malaria in the Western Pacific, said World Health Organization. This sickness are caused by infected Anopheles mosquitoes. We should expect this endemic sickness because now a days, we are experiencing high temperature and bodies of water become stagnant, which makes way for mosquitoes to multiply. What we can do best is prepare for anything that may happen to us. Let us be careful for our health.
Recently, I have read about ABCD acronym that stands for the ways of preventing malaria and other sickness that are endemic now a days.
Awareness of risk.
We should be aware of the sickness itself. In this way, we would know preventive measures and will less probably be affected by the malaria sickness. We must know what a sickness is all about. As what was said in a quote in Social Studies, "A man who does not know the law has no right to be protected by it." It means that without knowledge, we might catch it because we don't know what that is.
Bite avoidance.
This is the arrival of action in the whole section. Avoid places full of mosquitoes and as much as possible, let us put mosquito repellents and drink medicine to boost our resistance, It is important to avoid and prevent the sickness.
If you are in a malaria region, you must buy mosquito repellents, which was said a while ago in the second step. Be secured in the medicines you have to make sure you won''t be bitten by the infected mosquitoes. With this, you can secure your journey safe because you have the medicines and supplies that you could use to prevent them.
As to conclude the acronym, "Prevention is better than cure." A, B and C acronym tells about that. Being aware, Avoiding bites and taking up safety medicines are all forms of safety prevention. This will lead you to a safe and sound trip.
In every encounter we might have in sickness like malaria, or maybe other sickness, we shall remember that "Prevention is better than cure." We shall not wait for things still to happen but let us be Health-wise! Let us kill the injuries before it kills us. More power and take care.
